Il a rejoint AKB48 en janvier 2006 et a pris la relève en tant que nouveau capitaine de l'équipe A le 24 août 2012. Il a été annoncé lors de la cinquième élection générale le 8 juin 2013 qu'il serait diplômé de l'AKB48.
